Information for your holiday
You are certainly looking forward to your holiday in Sardinia. Many guests do not only travel to Sardinia once, and perhaps you are not spending the most beautiful days of the year on this wonderful island for the first time.
We have put together the most important information for your trip so that you can start your holiday without any problems.

Language
Most landlords in Sardinia only speak Italian and Sardinian. English and German are rarely understood, so a good dictionary should not be missing in your luggage. If you familiarise yourself a little with the local language before your trip, you will receive a friendly welcome wherever you go and you will certainly get to know Sardinian hospitality.

Arrival
Please note that arrival is generally not possible before 14:00 local time. We ask for your understanding that arrivals after 19:00 or at later times are usually possible, but some landlords charge an additional fee, especially for arrivals after 20:00.
If you are delayed or if your arrival time changes unexpectedly, please inform the named contact person on site of your new arrival time at the agreed meeting point by text message or telephone.
Hire car
If you are not travelling with your own vehicle, we recommend that you hire a car for all properties. Even if your house is close to the beach, the shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity may not be sufficient.
And even if you are only planning a relaxing beach holiday, it is always worth taking a trip to the many beaches and sights in the area.
Prices and additional costs
If you do not pay the remaining rent in cash but transfer it directly to the landlord, please ensure that the transfer is made on time and without errors. This will avoid problems when the keys are handed over. We cannot give you confirmation of your final payment, only the landlord or property manager can do this, as this is where you pay for the property. However, you can confirm receipt of the rent on your booking page.
Consumption-related additional costs and some other charges are paid in cash on site and are not included in the rental price:
- Consumption costs for electricity, gas and water
- security deposit
- Final cleaning
- Rent for bed linen and towels
- Wood for the fireplace
- Additional costs for pets brought along
- Rent for extra beds
- visitor's tax
Bed linen and towels are generally not included in the rental price and must either be brought along or rented on site for a small fee.
Departure
When handing over the keys, it is best to find out how and when the holiday accommodation will be handed over on departure.
You must always leave the property by 10.00 a.m. at the latest. If you wish to leave at a different time, please discuss this directly with the landlord.
Please leave the rental property swept clean and tidy on departure. All cooking and eating utensils must be clean and all rubbish must be put away in the bins provided. The entire furnishings of the property must be in the same condition as when you moved in.
Waste separation
Waste is generally separated very carefully in Sardinia and it is best to familiarise yourself with the system when you hand over the keys. There are often several rubbish bins and information sheets on waste separation. If the rubbish is not collected from the house, you often have to take it to nearby containers yourself.
It is best to have the waste separation explained to you. When you leave, there must be no rubbish in the house or outside the bins.
Please note that some landlords withhold up to 50% of the deposit if rubbish is not separated and left outside the rubbish bins at the house!
Food and inventory
Even in well-equipped kitchens, there is usually no food available. So you will probably not find any salt, oil or sugar. This is often criticised, but is common in most properties and unfortunately we have no influence on this.
If you or your fellow travellers have caused damage to the property or the furnishings during your stay, please discuss this with the landlord on site. Broken glass is not a problem and does happen, but your next tenant will be pleased when the furnishings are complete again.
Pets
Always check with us or the landlord before bringing pets, even if they are permitted according to the description. Also bear in mind that there are many free-roaming dogs in Sardinia.
Some landlords charge a fee for pets because the house has to be cleaned more thoroughly due to the animal hair. This is why they often ask about the size of the animal.
It goes without saying, but please remove dog faeces from the garden before you leave the house. When making arrangements with the landlord, please also note that dogs are generally not kept indoors in Sardinia.

On the beach
Many beautiful, secluded beaches can only be reached by car, boat or on foot. Even if you have rented a property close to the beach, it is always worth taking a trip to the beaches in the surrounding area.
A tip: If you print out a satellite map of the area before travelling, you will also find secluded bays!
It is generally forbidden to bring dogs and go topless on the beaches of Sardinia, even if nobody complains about this on some remote beaches. However, we cannot recommend a beach where dogs are allowed.

Defects and faults
If you are not satisfied or if you are disturbed by something, please always speak directly to the landlord or manager on site. If you cannot reach them or there are language problems, you can also leave us a message and we will always try to help you. However, if you only complain when you get home, nobody will be able to help you.
If you arrive in the low season, there may be construction noise from an owner on the neighbouring property, for example, because he does not expect the holiday home to be rented out. The owners usually know each other, and with a quick call to your landlord, the neighbour will certainly postpone his work until after your departure. Sometimes the landlord can also offer you another, comparable property.
Most properties are located in a rural area and animals are often kept there. Many landlords have dogs, occasional dog barking, other animal noises and local agricultural noises such as tractor noise can occur and are of course no reason for a complaint.
