What's special about a holiday home with pool in Sardinia
Many of our guests are looking for a holiday home with a pool for their holiday in Sardinia or in other regions of Italy. There are many houses with a private pool in Sardinia, and some properties also have a shared pool. The houses with private pools are often in the upper price category and are detached in the most beautiful regions or close to the sea. Not everyone can afford this for their holiday, so many guests looking for a holiday home or villa with a pool opt for inland accommodation. From there it is a longer journey to the beach, but you can always take a dip in the cool pool.
Why a holiday home with a pool?
Many guests in Sardinia and Italy use their holiday time for hiking or other sporting activities. These are often the early risers on holiday, who then prefer to enjoy the evening on a terrace with a beautiful view. For these guests, a pool is usually superfluous, as the sea in Sardinia is usually not far away.
Then there are the couples who want to treat themselves to something special. For example, a honeymoon on the Costa Smeralda to spend at least one holiday among all the rich and beautiful, and perhaps even meet a celebrity or two. Of course, a private pool at the holiday home or villa is a must, as it rounds off the perfect holiday at any time of day. Some houses also have several swimming pools or an additional whirlpool, often located on an upper terrace with fantastic views as far as the sea. This is of course a very special luxury that makes for an unforgettable holiday in Italy.
A holiday home with a pool is often the first choice for families. It offers a touch of luxury on holiday in Sardinia, and parents can always keep an eye on their children from the terrace or garden. After a long day at the beach, the whole family can enjoy a dip in the pool and then round off the day with a meal together on the terrace. A perfect holiday in Italy that leaves nothing to be desired.
A communal pool
In many small or larger complexes, there is a communal pool that is shared by several parties. Sometimes it is a small house community, sometimes there are several houses or flats that have access to the pool. As a rule, accommodation with a communal pool is cheaper than a private house with a pool. Nevertheless, a shared pool does not have to be the worse choice for your holiday in Italy.
A shared pool can be a particularly good choice for families with children. The children will quickly find children of the same age to play with, and these accommodations are often booked by Italians, so parents can also get to know local guests. The pool is a popular meeting place for all holidaymakers, and the resorts usually also have other leisure facilities such as playgrounds or covered leisure rooms. So even on a rainy day, there are plenty of opportunities to spend a great day on holiday.
Children can also be easily supervised by other parents at a communal pool, which means that parents don't have to watch the children themselves every minute. So a holiday with a pool in these accommodations is also possible on a budget, and sometimes even the better decision for families.
Are there any disadvantages to holidaying in a holiday home with a pool?
A pool needs to be maintained so that it can be used hygienically. This can be a lot of work, so the chlorine content and purity of the pool water must be checked regularly and any algae that forms must be removed. Leaves tend to fall into the water and must be removed from the pool every day, depending on the location. Although this is not the holidaymaker's responsibility, it may well be that someone has to check on the pool every day. This can certainly disturb your privacy.
People often underestimate how cold the water in the pool can be. Only a few pools have heating and the water can be as much as 15 degrees colder than the surrounding area. In addition to the temperature, the depth is also crucial for children. Some pools start at a depth of 1.5 metres - clearly too deep for small children to play.
So you need to think carefully about whether the extra cost of a holiday home with a pool in Italy is worth it. If you have a beautiful beach nearby and a lovely view from the terrace or balcony, you may be able to do without a pool, even if it means losing a touch of luxury on holiday.
